## The site

The site is ASP.NET Core 10 Razor Pages. Posts and pages are Markdown files in the site's repository, read at startup; there is no database. The tools and the contact form are small React and TypeScript islands. It began in 2010 and was rebuilt in 2026 from an older CMS, keeping every post and every old address.

## Type and colour

Headings are set in [Newsreader](https://github.com/productiontype/Newsreader) by Production Type. Text is [Atkinson Hyperlegible Next](https://www.brailleinstitute.org/freefont/), made by the Braille Institute to be easy to read, with its mono cut for dates and versions. All three are under the SIL Open Font License and are served from this site, so no font service sees your visit.

Night indigo or lavender paper, with neon magenta lines and a little cyan. A dark theme follows your system, and the button in the header switches it. Nothing moves when you scroll.

The picture at the top of the home page is the still frame of its 3D mode, a three.js scene loaded only when you ask for it. The first version was generated with Z-Image Turbo on my own machine; the scene took its colours, and its prompt and seed are in the repository. The games' pictures are the games' own art.

## Where AI helped

The 2026 rebuild and this design were done with Claude Code. I chose the direction from three it proposed after asking what I wanted and what I dislike, and it built against a written design file I approved. The build was checked with [sitewright](https://github.com/m4bwav), a tool I wrote to catch the generic AI look in personal sites. Posts written with AI help say so under the post. This page was drafted by Claude and approved by me.
