Mark Rogers (this site) - This site uses Asp.net MVC and the sample site Oxite for content and user management. I can't say that I really like Oxite that much, but it was a good working example I could use to prove my knowledge of Asp.net MVC.

Brent Warnock - A site I made for a musician that runs on PHP, and uses the drupal CMS for content. Drupal is used in a number of high-profile sites (like Popular Science), with a variety of add-ons. That said, Drupal is so modulated that sometimes it takes forever to find a particular option.
